This annual Christmas statue honors President David Eisenhower, whose nick name was Ike. Besides being an able peace-time president, he was also an ardent golfer. He would have appreciated this scene of a gnome * teaching a snowman to play the game. The ball is an acorn, of course!
The snowman is wearing a Santa cap on his golf ball head. The first rule in teeing off is “keep your head down”. As a grateful student the gnome replies “I like Ike!”
