The Fantastics Legend
"Once upon a time, in the best of both worlds, lived a charming princess who dwelled in the body of a beautiful white swan.." Thus begins yet another bedtime story told by Mother and Father Gnome to their children.
These priceless stories are passed on from Gnome generation to Gnome generation, and all the personalities in the stories possess the very best characteristics of the hominoid/anthropoid worlds, as well as that of the
animal kingdom. In fact, the Gnome children call these beings "Fantastics."
For example, the Swan Princess can engage in all types of social activities and events with her Gnome friends as well as enjoy such pleasures as gracefully gliding on the water or soaring through the sky.
Throughout art history there are examples of mixed images of humans and animals. From Greek mythology to H. Boseh and William Blake, figures have been "created" to amuse and interest people from all walks of life
Our own language has even incorporated animal traits to enliven descriptions of people, i.e. Richard the Lionhearted, Edith Piaf the Singing Sparrow, "Bear" Bryant and "Tiger" Woods.
No wonder Gnome children much enjoy sitting in their parents laps as the sun sets and hearing the words "Once upon a time, in the best of both worlds, there lived a Fantastic named..."
